Duck breed~and~Hatch~(along)

:frow

I've got 4 of my Welsh Harlequin hatching eggs- although I haven't split them into breeding pens yet.....

I did originally have 19 in there (4 WH and 15 KC), but ALL of the. Khaki Campbell eggs were infertile :(....... Looks like Gus hasn't been doing his job.

Good luck with your eggs, Duck Ladie and chickens really

Today is day 7 for my Duck eggs. I candled only two today. I will candle all on day 10......I was told certain breeds take longer so I will wait till day 10 and 14 before I give up on certain eggs.......The two I candled looked really good.........

Best of LUCK to both of us!!!!........Oops.....I mean all of us!

Cheers!

I haven't checked my eggs for fertility yet. I am only an egg a day right now, which is probably due to the snow we had a bit ago, a because they are molting. I think they will start back up soon.

Okay, so Miel hasn't been doing anything, I think the pen is to confining for him. I was taking care of both pens, and they got together outside for the first time since breeding season started. The first thing my ancona drake did was go over to my magpie girl and you know

. Anyway. My ancona is more likely to breed than my magpie, so I gave my magpie drake and his hens the big coop, the anconas get the small one. I'm thinking of filling the pond right now.

the only time my pekins *breed* is after they get a bath lol so maybe that is what yours are needing?

The small pen has a small bath, which definitely encourages them! The big pen has a bit larger bath, and a pond, which is not full right now.

Would like opinions. Ok so I checked an egg for fertility. Not sure if it's fertile. The white part dosen't exactly look like a bullseye. Here's a picture.

I never checked one egg before incubating......I just popped them in and hoped for the best!!
Day 8 i candled and out of 19 eggs I have 11 bouncing!!!

Best of luck....Just try it. If they are breeding they should hatch.....

Cheers!
