Duck Breed ID

A friend of mine has a duck that she’s unsure of the breed for. This is the photo she sent me. Any guesses? I was thinking it could be Buff Orpington at first but the colors are so unique to me! She’s pretty sure this duck is female.

How old? I would guess female, too. She looks like she’s either mounting or is still growing her adult feathers. I agree with @DaphneTheDuck . Do you know where your friends got her from? She looks like she could be a mix.

I was thinking she could be a mix too. She’s a rescue as she was injured and so my friend doesn’t know her age
