(Find the bold words if you want to skip most of it and get to the point.)

Hi, so I'm going to get 4 more ducks for my drake. My drake already has a girl but her head is bald and I can't stand looking at her hurt skin (from mating) anymore. So what I need are tips. How about you answer these questions: (compare them)
Broody (mamma duck hatching them) or incubate the eggs?
Different breed or the same breed (American Pekin)

Thanks. Your help is defiantly appreciated.

Incubate the eggs, It’s very rare to have a pekin duck go broody, and keep all the same breed, purebreds sell best.

Wait so she is broody ?
Yes, she bites me whenever I go to collect her eggs. And she sits on them all day, even if I let them out to go to their huge pond (which is very tempting to her). The only times she gets up is to take one sip of water, and bite of food and she continues her sitting-on-the-eggs routine.

Um, first off: Please do not breed that satanic drake of yours.
There is no gain in propagating such aggressive traits.

Yes, stick with the same breed if you really must breed your ducks.

I have to ask, why are you hatching eggs fertilized by that monster?

Oh, let her sit and hatch them then. You want to breed them, right ?

Didn't know there would be anything wrong with hatching eggs by him. What would he do? And, would I have to find another drake (possibly some pool I walk by every day) for my Donald (female) to mate with? You did say (I think) that he is trying to mate with me because he doesn't have enough girls, so wouldn't hatching more girlys fix the problem?

Also, she has 5 eggs in her nest right now. And I forgot to mention that she hasn't been laying eggs since she got broody.
