Hey folks!

My ducks are six weeks old tomorrow, and more or less fully feathered! I’m wondering if anyone has any idea what they might be as far as breeds go? They were sold to me as barnyard mutts and I’m no expert in duck breeds. I’d love to know what everyone thinks!

Also, I'm fairly confident all three are females, as they all have very strong, vocal quacks (and opinions, ha). Are there any colour/marking indicators that would strongly suggest otherwise?

The third one looks like mallard/ khaki maybe? Could be more. But I know those mallard markings anywhere! Like wild mallard markings. My Rouen didn’t have markings quite like that. Beautiful though!

My sister and her coworkers just found 10 of these ducks in the backyard in Nebraska. Mom unfortunately was found dead from getting stuck in the fence. Any idea on breed or age?

How beautiful...lucky ducks, they found you!
Khakis from the look of them.

What did the mother look like? If it's a wild duck, like a Mallard or Wood duck, you need to call your local wildlife rescue and surrender them because it is illegal to possess them unless you have a permit or are a licensed wildlife rehabber.

It looks like a Mallard, a Wood duck, or a Muscovy.
