Our 3 ducklings, have a good sized brooder with a spot to swim in, a piece of wood to waddle on and a decent amount of space to walk. My chicken brooder has lots of entertainment for th chicks but my ducks just have the swimming spot....should I include anything else? (We’re newbies!!) TIA

Treats list which is provided in the duck forum sticky topic (as well as other valuable info for new duck owners). If you provide treats, you need to provide chick grit as well.
You can put a mirror in the brooder and a stuffed animal for them to cuddle. Ducklings generally arent needing the extra stimulation like chicks. Take them outdoors when you can. :frow
That’s what I told my husband but he said he felt bad that I gave extra stimulation for the chicks but not the ducks lol.
They go outside at least once a day currently. But I’ll give them a stuffed animal and mirror too. :)

How old are they and what type?
Call ducks
Two are roughly 2 weeks old, one is about 5 days (the lady we got the other two had a single egg and once hatched she called my husband to see if we could add it to the two we already took so she/he wasn’t alone. ) only one accepts a little attention but she runs before you can grab her.

Awe. :love
That's how mine were when they were little. Mine are now almost 9 weeks and muscovies. They get better with age, I think. Except they still don't want to be picked up.

Yes!! We’ve been sad they don’t like to be picked up lol. But the kids love watching them in the kiddie pool when I bring them outside and I’m hoping they’ll enjoy the koi pond once they’re bigger too

Generally from what I have seen, the pekins are about the only ones that enjoy being picked up at such an early age - unless you hatched them yourself. Just keep visiting them, putting your hand in their brooder (without always attempting to pick up), offer some treats. They will get used yo you and enjoy your company.
