Duck can’t stand

Hello BYC,

We recently got four ducks for our new ranch home. Two Pekins, one runner and one magpie. The other day our Pekin, we call her big foot because her feet are huge and she’s a bigger girl then her sister, little foot. It’s been two days now and she can stand. We’ve come home twice with her on her back. We’re giving her probiotics we got from the store, have added yeast to food and water . I also got poultry cell from Big R today. She’s eating and drinking and quacking. I’m worried and don’t want to loose her. She’s around four weeks old. Any suggestions?

Quacking already? I’m not good with this stuff but I know this person is.

She may need some niacin (vitamin B 3.) I would give her the Poultry Cell vitamins orally, a few drops now and repeat tomorrow. They can be given 1 ml per day for every 3 pounds. @Miss Lydia might be along with more advice.

Oh I just realized.

When you guys came home with her on her back, was her head back by her back like she would a seizure?

Is she on her side or completely on her back?

Have you picked her up yet? If you have is her neck and other body parts with muscles numb?

Ok maybe more like 7 weeks? They are getting their feathers in order. We’ve picked her up and even put her in the bath. She floats better then standing . She has one foot that looks closed at times until she stretches it out and then it will web out. We’re doing the niacin and probiotic stuff currently . She’s on her back with her feet peddling, not on her side. Her head seems fine but probably a couple weeks before this she looked to have troubles with her neck/head. It now seems good but now this tipping issue....
I’ll get a syringe tomorrow and do it that way. Thanks everyone
