Duck can't walk

Does anyone know of a sanctuary for handicapped ducks? I hate to have to put my duck to sleep but I don't think I will have the time that he needs. You can email me [email protected]

Welcome to BYC, sorry for the circumstances. Is your duck unable to walk because of an injury? If not, Niacin deficiency can cause this problem in ducks.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your duck, hope you are able to figure out what is wrong with him. You might check humane societies in your area, some of them will take pet poultry. For rescues etc, Petfinder has a lot of adoption groups in all states listed, you might find one that takes birds http://www.petfinder.com/

How long has he been unable to walk? Did you just get him? If it is a treatable problem, I would hate to think he was put down.
