Yeah, ok if the pet thing is big for you, I would recommend bigger size ducks. They seem to be calmer than the lil uns. And saxonies and appleyards lay pretty darn well! Dan can speak for the pekins

Pets, pets, pets, pets, pets, and.... the occasional egg?

Swedish ducks, there awesome right now i have two, (and they may be dislike or be scared of me) but there said to be a tame breed which makes good pets, there also a dual purpose breed, meaning you get anywhere between 100-150 eggs a year (and i read they can be white, blue or green eggs) sorry am sorta of a Swedish duck fanboy lol.

I have Swedes and they are my most skittish ducks, raised the same way as all my other ducks but don't want anything to do with me. My Swedish hen also does not lay as well as my pekins.

You only need to clip the wings of calls or mallards really, most are to big to fly. Some people keep ducks in two foot fences, but you also have to consider the predators

And yes, one wing.

Yeah. Nice! I like mine for color, and when you cross a Swede with a Pekin! Best of both worlds right there!
