Duck choking gasps for breathes

Hi our pet duck seems to be choking or having trouble breathing we need help.
Also she ate a prawn head and we were wondering if they can get stuck in their throat o

Yes I can I suppose just don't know if the duck is acting weird by gasping

Give it watermelon, tomatoes peas in water. Possibly something needs to be dislodged..Happens sometimes.

A vet really is your best option, especially if something like a prawn head is stuck.

Thanks guys. She or he is a fussy eater so she won't eat fruit only seed and worms so I can't try the fruit idea. I just don't know if a prawn head would naturally dissolve on its own or not. Also is a ducks breath supposed to smell fishy??

Can you take a video, upload it to YouTube or Vimeo, then copy/paste the link here. If you think your duck has food stuck in it's throat, please do not give it more food because that could make matters much worse.

Have you checked the duck for a blockage? It's easy, just catch your duck and examine the right side of it's neck for lumps of food.

You can try getting some olive or coconut oil down her throat. That might help dislodge it.
