Hey so I have 5 ducks and have had an issue with there back claw thing falling off and bleeding. So am I supposed to cut them to help with this? All I have is my dogs clippers... can I use that?

Could you post a picture?

If it's barely attracted, yes, use your dog clippers. One clean cut, and afterwards apply pressure with a damp towel, or a coagulant, like corn starch or styptic powder.

It’s kinda bloody in the photos but her nail looked like this. I was able to kinda twist it of then I tapped it up so it wouldn’t get infected but I’m wondering how to stop this issue because all of my ducks keep having this issue... like should I cut them when there nails get long or is there something I’m doing wrong? Also the photo isn’t great quality

Do you have a few pictures of their setup?

If their nails are getting too long to the point there breaking off, yes, you should clip them off. I can't see much from the picture, could you post another one?

Okay I’ve only had the issue with there back claw so I’m wondering if I should cut that... I don’t have a photo of there coop right now but its my old tree house we built. The top is a wood floor with a tarp and straw. The bottum is kinda slanted downward but it’s a dirt floor with a tarp and straw... I don’t think the setups an issue but let me know what you think and I’ll try to get a picture today

Looking at your set-up I almost wonder if the ramp is too steep and high causing the breakage🤔
Hmm... it could be but I have a turf grass on it to help with that. Also it usually only happens when there out of the coop. But thanks for all the info😁

It won't be pretty, but you need to do a clean cut, and get the rest of that nail off. It needs to come off.

Sorry to keep asking for pictures, but could you post a few pictures of one of the other ducks nails? The front and back.
