We started our expansion/ securing today and I'm exhausted. Our yard isn't level so we have to level the area to pour concrete down to make it predator proof. We have to "excavate" and area, fill it with pebbles then pour the concrete.. not to mention moving our coop damaged it so we will be rebuilding in addition to expanding it.

I hope you will be able to post some picture as you go

@JanetS since our yard is not level I think we will just be digging for a while! It is hard work leveling!! I will try to post when we get to the coop part though!

Sorry for the lack of pictures, we have had progress finally. The off and on rain held us up so this has taken MUCH longer than we planned on. We finally got the addition added on and concrete poured. They have a window now. All we have to do is add the roof then spray paint. I'll add pictures soon, promise!

I want to paint it soon. Spray paint didn't work for some of the wood.

Laying the gravel was harder than expected especially not having a place to mix it properly. We laid it down one day, found it was to sharp in spots since we did it somewhat rough to avoid it being to smooth where they would slide and fall.... it was to rough so husband put another layer on. It is great now!

The roof is on. If you noticed even after a days work leveling we still didn't get it perfectly level, he leveled with extra wood on top.

The roof is NOT waterproof yet. I'm debating the best fix for it.

It is raining or I would take a picture of the roof. We need to figure out how to waterproof the roof though. I want it took look good but $ is also an issue.

Don't you have to prepare the roof for shingles? I have like a 8' by 2.5' roof..
