Duck egg externally pipped day 25?

is the power back yet?
Yes just came back! Early duckling has just hatched and yolk is completely absorbed and is getting along nicely with the older duckling Thankyou for your advice everyone here’s a photo of them. I’m guessing my temp must have been too high.... early hatch for an Aylesbury to hatch on day 26/27

If if the duckling pipped at the small end of the egg think of it as being an internal pip. Since there is no air cell at the small end when it tried to pip internally, it pipped the shell. With my ducks it can take 24-48 hours to go from internal pip to external pip, then another 24-48 to go from external pip to exiting the shell. Does any of that makes sense?
This is the best news I’ve read all day!!
