Howdy
years ago we had some khaki Campbell ducks, were excellent foragers and layers, however had a problem.
1--the khakis laid eggs like "no tomorrow" but the flavor tasted -well --"rubbery".
Anyone have thoughts on why their eggs tasted "rubbery"?
Is this "normal" for duck eggs to have a faint rubber taste?? Cannot remember what they were being fed as that was so many years ago other than they were foraging in the garden for bugs and probably eating some sort of chicken feed..
That said there was a Asiatic lady who loved them, But I couldn't stand them..
Do duck eggs flavor differ with the breed, like some cows milk flavor varies with breed??
Am considering trying ducks again, but am wondering about the flavor..
Any thoughts??
