Duck egg has dark spot ?

What does it mean when a dark spot appears under the shell ?? I can hear the duck but it hasnt pipped yet, is the membrane possible to thick ?? do I need to make a small hole at the dark spot ?? any help would be grateful just dont want the duck to die inside.

My banty eggs are about to hatch, and they have dark/blueish spots under the surface. I have found it to be the chick- just so big in the little shell.

If it is meant to hatch it will. Give it time.

I have East Indie Ducks hatching as I type this. It is probably the bill you are seeing.

Thanks for the info !!! I havent seen this before and was worried that the membrane was to thick and it was shrink wrapping them Thanks again and will not intervene.
