How do I go about lubricating/wetting the area where the safety hole is? I've noticed it's starting to dry and I don't want him to get stuck. Can I use coconut oil?

He passed. The others are doing good though. This little guy just wasn't meant to be. His bill and head look very abnormal so I just think something wasn't right. I opened the egg once I confirmed he was dead just to see what color he was.

I got these eggs from a farmers market so I'm unsure exactly what the parents are. The eggs are blue (hard to tell in the picture) so I assumed indian runner. The other 2 are currently still hatching but very vocal.

Oh ok...there could be some call genes in them if you’re not completely sure
