Duck eggs day 22 questions

No, no,no! chicks poke the hole just to catch a breath. in the egg they are still absorbing their yoke. and building lungs. If you help them out too soon their intestines will be sticking out and they may bleed too much. gross. I could still try and help you if you did try and "help" the chick out. tricks and stuff.

I won't even go into what all I thought but this is such a relief to hear. I don't want to have to help them out but I don't want to lose any either. I will hit you up if I start to panic when it gets closer

Well, I panicked and ended up helping her out. Hatched day 26 but all looks well. I freaked when her beak was out and there was solid shell between it and her body.




 
If you have troubles with the belly button,( leaking) you can dab it with flour. Hand warmers are also good for helped babies some times the need extra heat.

Thank you. So far no problems. 2nd one hatched and both are doing well. They are so tiny but it just amazes me how they fit in a tiny egg.
 

these are my current eggs, day 6/7 + one more brown one From 2 diff. farms.. I have a great incubator I made, just hatched out 16/17in Nov. (including 3 power outages)



I am hoping my rooster is fertile too. I am always hoping. from my hens,
2 LO, 2 WCBP, and one blue Isbar.
