duck eggs day 24, broke into aircell already? update: hatched day 27!

Just wanted to update again. Today is day 28 and no new pips, zips, etc. Just the one lone little duckie in there.

I'm not too worried just yet as it IS only the morning of day 28 and it was late day I set them so I guess technically it won't be day 28 until this evening. I'm hoping at least one more hatches! I'd hate for this little guy to be all alone.

How long is it ok to live him/her in there?

Awww!! So cute! You can leave him in there up to three days, or take him out as soon as he's fully fluffed up. I seem to always have one ambitious duck who is out a full day before the next hatch. I have had good luck opening the incubator once a day to take out any fluffed up ducks and put them in the brooder.
