Duck Eggs day 29

Pics
What is up with the random feather on the back of his head? It's like one long feather. Been there since he lost the fluff and got normal feathers.

Looks like he's crested. Some are more prominent than others, his may just be small. I have one that isn't very fluffy like some others we see.

With lower temp, I would give them plenty of extra time... development will most likely be delayed so don't rush the hatch... plus, ducks take a LOT longer than chickens to hatch... :fl

Hi...Ravynscroft or Anyone..... I am now in the process of hatching our 1st duck egg and am a worried, nervous wreck. Saw that you are pretty knowledgeable on the matter so thought I would ask you, if you dont mind. So here goes.
I've raised a Welsh Harl.(female) & Pekin (male). They are only about 8months old. Emmie decided to sit on her eggs to our surprise. The 3rd week, she suddenly stopped. I was able to officially save 1 out of 9. I've had the egg in an incubator for the last week. Today is Day 29 so getting worried. Shes definatly moving in there but I'm not sure that shes internally pipped yet. I dont see an exact point of the beak sticking through. It looks more like a slight shadow if I shine from the opposite side with maybe something there?? But only shows when you shine on the opposite side (hope I'm making sense). I have tried & tried but am unable to tell what is what, the head, bottom, beak....... To make sure that she had extra moisture in there, I added a damp washcloth lastnight...... but now, there is a slight bruise looking spot where the egg was laying on the washcloth. Knowing that she is alive in there........ I cant help but worry my head off knowing that shes made it this far, technically to "full term". I cant lose her now. Any insight or thoughts, help of any kind would be so much appreciated. Thank you so, so much. - Erin
