duck eggs dead?

I candled the eggs again today, and I can still see veining in two of them. There is a big black thing blob in it (just making a guess here, but I'm assuming thats the duckling :p) and there is a small orange area in-between the ling and the air sack, where I can see the veins. In the other two I can't even see the veining, its all black and in those two the air sack has become more elongated and expanded against the big side of the egg, hopefully them getting ready to hatch. What concerns me tho is that I cannot see the duckling move in the any of the eggs? I know they are sleeping sometimes, but when I candle them they are always still, and I've never seen them move. Should I be concerned? I read thru some other threads and they all mention they can see them moving at this point. I'm not sure exactly what breed they are, but they have at least some cayuga and blue swedish, I think.

Saw a candling chart on another thread, now I have a question. Should the air cell be at the fat round end of the egg, or the pointy end? On the chart it looked like it was at the pointy end. And from the chick or duckling's perspective, why does it matter? Thanks.

Edit: left "y" off of pointy.

The two farther along eggs still haven't pipped yet... And none of the 4 show any movement still... Please help its stressing me out a lot...

I would stop candling and leave them alone. If you seen veins they are more than likely still alive and have a few days to go.Candling to much close to hatching can disorient the babies and prevent them from getting in the right position to internally pip.

You're not going to see any movement until they start getting in position to hatch.Ducks rest a lot before hatching so dont get too worried.Candle in a few days from the small end and if there is any small air pockets i would toss them.

Ok thanks. When and if they hatch, they can go 24 hours before I remove them from their incubator and feed and water them, correct? When I do feed them, for how many days can they eat minced boiled egg before I switch to crumble?
