Duck Eggs Due the 25th

2 Ducks! Khaki Campbells. One arrived early this morning, the other around 5 pm or so. I tucked them both in with my chicks just a bit ago and now everyone is fast asleep. (Though there was a tense moment when the Buff OrpingtonX chicks gathered together for a conference regarding what to do about the alien threat.)

Edit: Oh, my crested Khaki Campbells actually seem to not have crests. (I remember you were interested in the Crested Rouens.) That's a relief really. I was concerned about the lethal gene issue, tied to the crests. So I'm getting some non-crested chicks at least.

Congrats on your 2 babies. When you get your camera fixed and I get my USB card reader fixed, we need to exchange pictures.

I saw my goose egg rolling last night but nothing is happening yet. No pip or anything. I am beginning to get worried. Also, the two ducks I got are the only ones to hatch. I am going to wait a little longer before I go discarding anyone, then I will concentrate on my chicks for the 29th.

Is it just me or are babies we hatch ourselves much calmer? My EEs from Ideal are totally insane whenever I go to care for them and play with them. My little ones in the other brooder are some of the calmest, sweetest chicks.

I think all I'm getting from those duck eggs were the two babies, but that's ok. They are great baby ducks.

Today's picture, now that I have my card reader back and am free to post pics again. They have definite personalities. One is very outgoing. The other, less so, but they seem to get along well.
