Hatching

My mama duck (crested pekin) has been sitting on eggs for about 17 days. I believe early this morning she was picked up by a stray dog (she's been adamant about sitting, so she didn't just leave.) I picked up the eggs, candled them, and put the fertile ones in an incubator. Will they be able to survive switching hatching methods?

First off, I'm so sorry about your female :hugs Did she survive?

On the egg front, yes, they will be fine being switched into an incubator. Depending on how long the female was off the nest and how long they cooled off for, they may hatch a little late, so just be aware that they might not hatch on Day 28.

Thank you. My female is nowhere to be found. I am, however, hopeful that the eggs will be fine. I picked them up around 1:30 PM after I realized she was truly gone. It's in the low to mid 80s here today, so I've got my fingers crossed. Thank you again for your information.
