I started this thread and have found that the eggs that have been in the water are not good for incubation. IF you happen to be right there when ur hen drops that egg into the water or the muddy water along the edge and can pick it up within minutes, I myself, would incubate it but if it's been totally submerged for any time I would not... Does this help any??

Thanks a lot for the reply. For the past week, the duck has been laying her eggs in the mud just outside the pond, but that is better than in the pond.

Have you cracked to see if they are fertile yet? I'd check one of her muddy eggs for that 'Bulls eye'... Good luck!
