Duck Eggs Making Me Sick?

How long are they in the fridge ?
I read duck eggs have a much shorter shelf life due to a porous shells.

Washing with hot water is also not recommended, you should use room temperature or equivalent to the eggs temp .

Hope you figure this out soon , you guys have had a “ free cleansing experience “

I feel just absolutely squeaky clean trust me :lau
We have been keeping them for about 2 weeks maybe? Pretty sure none of ours have lasted longer than that. I've been using water that's more cool than hot because honestly in my brain I though hot sink water would probably partially cook them. I'm going to have to look into getting some of the wipes! I seem to get an upset stomach pretty often and from no specific triggers other than dairy (lactose intolerant) so when I first started getting sick I wasn't concerned. But as soon as my boyfriend also got sick, that was a big red flag! He's never sick!

Eggs should last at least 30 days in the refrigerator if not longer if you are picking them up daily. Unwashed duck eggs will last up to two weeks on the counter. Have the ducks seemed sick? I have been eating duck eggs almost exclusively for 3 years. Only had one go bad but it was unfound in the yard for who knows how long. It is a mystery.

If it’s a sensativity issue, would a slower introduction be better? Like for instance mixing one duck egg with two chicken eggs for an omelette for a period of time, and then a period of time one to one, and then finally just a duck egg.

I would assume a true allergy would cause swelling, rashes, and possibly your throat closing up not just vomiting and diarrhea.

Illness is more likely than egg allergy. Just because one rarely is ill doesn’t mean they can’t be ill. Swine flu hit the healthiest the hardest. People that were almost never sick were suffering the most. Occam’s razor applies

I love your logic! i was gonna say food poisoning from using the same spatula from raw to cooked. I clean my utensels while i cook so theve never touched raw then cooked food

The fresher the egg, the less likely you are to get ill from it. That cuticle is tremendous protection precisely because eggs are essentially embryos or potential embryos.

However, it is possible that they ate an egg that had been previously cracked and didn’t notice. When I was cleaning my 22 eggs, I had to toss one because it was cracked. I didn’t notice the crack until I really felt it over while cleaning. I don’t buy cracked eggs because I won’t eat cracked eggs unless I know precisely how old that crack is. A cracked egg is a virtual vacuum for bacteria.
