Duck eggs soon to hatch?

I’d try making a donut out of a towel and place the ducking down in head out of course to see if that doesn’t keep it from freaking out. See how the little one is doing in the morning. Just keep an eye it doesn’t get its head stuck down in the towel

Thank you very much. I honestly thought we may need to put it down but I did some reading and saw a post that you actually commented on. The neck was much worse and it was okay. I went ahead and held him for a bit, but placed him in the brooder. The other ducklings seem to be surrounding him and making him feel calm. It’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. I think I’m going to just give him some vitamins and see what happens. Would rather not have to put him down. Thanks everyone

Oh no. :( I have one that was born deformed, missing an eye and a crooked beak. I gave it a day once in brooder to see if it ate and drank and although his vision is impaired and he has a bad day once in a blue moon, he is a healthy 6 month old now. Something like that though could be causing pain unless it’s just kinked... I’ve read about neck kinks and pulls/strains in older ducks. I think they recommend a warm compress and massage but it might be that it just developed that way therefore it could be painful to mess with it...
Aw thank you very much for sharing. I’ve been doing some reading and I saw some other ducklings have had crooked necks and turned out to be okay. I am going to give vitamins and take care of him.

oh good. They are resilient little things so vitamins and making sure it’s got plenty of niacin will hopefully straighten it out. :fl

Take him out and rub him with a towel to fluff him up. I don't think he's deformed. Maybe his head was pinched a little. He probably will be ok. Dry him off real good. Don't let him flip over. You actually want to use a sock. Once he's fluffy put him in the sock and set it in a throwaway cup so he can't roll over. A mason jar or something will work too. Put him in the sock, put him in the cup, and put him back in the incubator. There's a person on YouTube who's username is "a chick called Albert". He did a video about a duck just like that. I can't remember what the video is called. Anyone want to help me out with that? I honestly don't think he looks too bad. Just give him some TLC, and I think he'll be fine. Dip his bill in some electrolyte water. Don't dip it past his nostrils though. Let him swallow and move him away. Then dip his bill in a few more times and let him swallow. That might help him.

If it is the one that was stuck after externally pipping for a long while maybe it’s just kinked from being cramped in that position for so long!

you Want her to try and give the duckling water with electrolytes now ? I always heard to let them rest at least their first 24 hrs first since they are living off the yolk. My duckling were 24 hrs old before they were up on their legs and found the water. Just asking.
