Hi, I have a broody silkie incubating a muscovy duck egg and I was just wondering what the egg should look like after 6 days of incubation. Does anyone know a website or have pictures that show each day of incubation that way I can see if everything was okay. thank you. Also I was wondering if I could place chicken eggs under my silkie at the same time. Since they take a shorter time to hatch I was wondering if I could add some now.

You may not be able to tell anything on day 6 of incubation. With my muscovy eggs I can almost always tell by day 10. At day ten with a bright light you should be able to see veins in the egg. You will know it when you see it. Adding more eggs under the silkie. You could do it but I would do it on day 14 of the muscovy egg incubation, that way they will all hatch at the same time. If you put chicken eggs in too soon and they hatch before the muscovy the hen will probably get off the remainder of the eggs after a couple days to mother the chicks.

Okay, thank you. I will candle the egg later on, and then after a few more days add the chicken eggs.

hi again. The duck I have now is 2 weeks old, and on one half it is all dark, and light on the other side. Is this normal ? I found this website :

    http://www.minkhollow.ca/HatchingProgram/Candling/Week1/Day-1.html

which shows pictures of eggs at each day. My duck egg does not match up with the pictures of the eggs at 2 weeks, so I was wondering if the egg went bad or if i need a stronger flash light. Any advice is appreciated. Thankyou..
