Duck eggs

I bought eggs at auction. im pretty sure theyre duck because size and comparison. i just meant can i tell what kind of duck based on color? theyre supposed to hatch today (day 28) but if they dont, i dont want to throw them out incase theyre just late hatchers like muskovy. their egg isnt full all the way like its supposed to be but i know theyre good. i got them at auction, not found. or maybe theyre peafowl, turkey, or goose. those take longer too.

About the only way that you 'might' be able to tell the breed is by the color, and that's not even a sure thing. Rouens and mallards *can* lay blueish or greenish eggs, but they don't always. Cayugas can lay a black, grey, green, or 'tinted' egg, but don't always. Muscovy eggs are very greasy looking, if that's what you have (greasy looking eggs) they are probably scovies. All ducks hatch around day 28 except for scovies, so if they are still alive, and look like they have room to grow, I'd bet that's what you have.
