ok. so this is my second time hatching eggs. first time were chicken eggs all went well they all hatched and temp was good the whole time. they were in an egg turner and temp at top of eggs was consistant at 995 the whole time. now i am hatching duck eggs. temp is consistant but eggs are not in egg turner. they are on floor of incubator. temp at top of eggs is 100.5 and temp on floor of bator is 98 will this affect eggs? it is consistant temp just slightly off cause of different heights?

The temperature should be measured at the top of the eggs. I usually get a thermometer that is on a stand or something that is even with the top of the egg and take that reading. The temps at different levels of the incubator will vary slightly, but the temp at the top of the eggs is the most important one to pay attention to. Good luck!
