Duck Eye Question

I am currently rehabbing an Ancona duck that had foamy eye due to over-mating. Her eyes have both healed but one of them seems to have skin growing around and over the eye. I have included pictures of both eyes. I am not sure why this is happening and what to do. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Not entirely sure, as I have not seen this before. But it is very possible that skin around her eye is swollen from some infection. Especially since she lost all those feathers around the eye. It almost looks like that whole side of her head looks slightly swollen and puffier looking. It is hard to say from just pictures.

Did you treat her with an oral antibiotic, or just one for her eye?

Maybe it is scar tissue. I could also completely be imagining the swelling. It may just be the different lighting.

Maybe @Isaac 0 is on and would have a better idea what could be going on.

She appears to be using only the good eye to see now. I think she can see from the injured eye but less now that skin is growing over.

I flushed both eyes 2x daily with Vetericyn and put Terramycin in eyes 2x daily until foamy eye appeared to be healed and now just putting Vetericyn in eye and keeping inside with clean bathtub time 2x a day. The skin continues to grow here is what it looks like today.

Her head does not appear to be swollen. Prior to the growth around her eye a crusty ring around her eye scab peeled off. I do not see evidence of infection. I’m thinking scar tissue but not sure why it continues to grow over her eye? I have called a local vet that works with ducks for advice.

I am taking her to the vet tomorrow for him to look at her. Will let you know after he checks her out.
