Pekin duck. Gender, uncertain. 9 weeks old tomorrow.
His eye looks as though it has a cyst, lump or possible prolapse on the inner lower eyelid. He blinks and it goes away for a bit, then returns. This does not seem to bother him in anyway. No discharge. No crust. No breathing issues.

Is this something that is a precursor to something else? Should I be taking certain steps?

It came on somewhat suddenly. Was there one day, where it had not been the day before. There is no redness, puffiness, nothing. Lloyd (the duck) does not seem bothered in the least by this little bump/flap. The more I look at it, and probably stress the poor thing out, the more it looks like one of the eyelids folds over instead of remaining flat. When he blinks a few times, it completely goes away... until he blinks a few more times and it returns.

I have terramycin here already. I use it with my dog that seems to be allergic to everything under the sun including air. Sigh. I will give it a try. I never even thought to try it. Thank you so much for the suggestion!

If it was sudden it might have been an insect sting of some sort. Let us know if it disappears at all.

It has been a few days now. The update is good! The bump seems to have shrunk considerably at this point. Still there but, barely noticeable. It seems to have been most likely a bug bite. Lloyd the duck is still seemingly unbothered by it but, fully understands that me checking his eye results in a handful of meal worms. It's to the point that he waddles over to me to be checked everytime he notices that I am outside... and that's a lot. Then chatters at me obnoxiously when I don't pick him up to check 😐 the little turd, lol

Glad to hear the welling went down. If you believe it might have been a bug bite, you can administer some Benadryl if you'd like.

Dosage,
