Duck feathers on the foot??

Heres my question, my adolescent white pekin duckling has feathering on her foot, my question is, why did she get such odd feathers?? Is it genetic??

Dang, I kinda like it. Though mine look like adult feathers are coming in after the baby fluff.

Just found the same on my young ducks today. Thought it odd. They're about 12 weeks I think.

Mine are over a month old and are mostly feathered in.
