duck food and slugs

Salt rings and crushed egg shells! Slugs are attracted to food/hay/straw, come out in the rain and damp and are frankly, disgusting :hmm one of my ducks Jemima picked one up, swallowed it and by the time he reached the end of the garden, it was back out :lau my ducks arent interested in them at all so I have to resort to eggshells and salt rings!

They are attracted to the yeast.
I don't drink beer, so I don't buy it just for slugs. I buy this slug attractant powder that has sodium ferric in it. You sprinkle on your plants. They like my hostas.
This has a lot of different slug control suggestions. One of them is crushed eggshells since the slugs do not like to slide over them. I wonder if that could work in your situation?

My ducks love slugs! We have had an unseasonably wet & cool year and the slug population has been crazy. I carry a cup with me while I garden & scoop up any slugs I see. My ducks see me coming with that cup & come running. No need to call them. They create such an excited ruckus that soon everyone (ducks & chickens) are waiting anxiously for me to throw the delicacies their way.
I never heard that ducks should not eat slugs. In fact, one of the reasons I chose to get ducks was the fact that they will help control the slug populations in a garden.
