We do Layena pellets plus a 5 grain scratch mix, about 75/25 ratio for the ducks and chickens and they do fine with it. Good feathers, healthy shelled eggs and both my ducks and chickens are robust but not fat.
They also all get kitchen scraps/leftovers daily and I tell you what.... the chickens were slightly picky and would leave stuff for me to clean up because they didnt want it. With the ducks now in the group..... there is no leftovers!LOL I love it because I know nothing is going to waste and I do not have to clean up whatever the chickens didnt want.
Plus I think the chickens eat more of stuff now because the notice their duck sisters eating it and it becomes a case of get it before she does!LOL
