Duck Harnesses

So, when the ducklings get older I really want to be able to take them on short trips, and I learned of duck harnesses.
What do you guys think of them? Do they work? Are they safe? And if you have one/some, do you think it was a waste of money or do you like it?
Last of all, if you like them do you have any suggestions on which one I should get? (Preferably available online).

One thing to keep in mind is where you want to take them. You say short trips? do you mean to a park where other water fowl are? if so then you risk diseases.

Not exactly. When I say short trips, I mean walking around the front yard a bit (they're not generally allowed in the front yard), or possibly a car ride (to nowhere in particular).
