Duck has mites/parasites?

I just got a duckling a week ago. It was perfectly fine, but I noticed that is keeps scratching its neck with its leg, and there are spots around his head/neck which are abit red?pink, as if his neck?head irritated. I also noticed that he sometimes sneezes. I was told that he may have parasites/mites! Is that true?

Ducks clean themselves by 'preening' especially right after they have a little time in water, and one of the things they do is what you described (using foot to scratch neck) so it may be perfectly normal.
is her water container made deep enough for her to dunk her face into the water to clear out her nares (like nostrils)
she may be sneezing to clear them out
