I just picked up the other eggs finally. They had 99 eggs (i think that's what they told me). I have 24 easter egger eggs hatching today (8 out so far). The guinea eggs I started with with 5 dozen and am down to 4 dozen. The Creme Legbar eggs I started with 18 and 13 where fertile.
Ya, I live in Central Texas so we have a pretty mild fall. Last year I was able to hatch and sell chicks until December. When December hit it was much colder. Then in February I started back up again.
I forgot...
Yesterday I saw veins in some of the eggs. Even with a very, very weak light! I do have one egg that looks like the yolk is just floating around, but the air cell increases in size??? ()
Its day 13 for 2 of my eggs. Day 9 for 4 of my eggs, and Day 4 for 1. I was wondering if it's ok to put eggs in lockdown before time?
I have put eggs in lockdown early before it didn't seem to hurt them. Just don't do it too early. I ended up with 21 Easter egger chicks. I already have someone that wants to buy 10-15 of them.I forgot...
