I'll join along with you all. I have two scovy hens setting on 30 eggs between them! They each have about 3 weeks to go then I will have ducklings coming out of my ears!

Wow...sounds like you will be rolling in scovy ducklings, for sure! A group of scovies showed up in my creek, so I may see some feral scovies running around with babies soon.

How about updates??? How is everyone doing?

Out of 19 eggs, I have 5 developing nicely, 5 blood rings, and the rest clear. Tells me where my ferility is at the moment. The girls did just start laying on the 13th, so these are first eggs of the season. The clears were from my pastels, and they are all 2011 birds. The butterscotch are 2010, and all of their eggs were fertile....which is really good because they are my favorites!!
This is day 6, so I'm not tossing anything out....yet.

I candled my batch due 4/11 over the weekend and disposed of three blood rings and 6 clears. 4 of the clears are the entire batch of my own ducks' eggs that I put in. Drakes aren't doing their job.

My batch due 4/17 needs to be candled. I was planning to wait until tomorrow since that's day 7. I have to force myself not to jump the gun when it comes to tossing eggs.

I candled some of them because the shipper asked me to (DG!!!!!). But otherwise I'm trying to be as hands-off as possible since I have to go in at least 3 times a day to turn the 5 that didn't fit in the turner.

Well, i asked for a update, didn't mean you had to candle right away!!! lol. I'm glad their forming nice though.

I hand turn all of my eggs, so it's even harder not to candle all the time

But my candler is awesome...I don't have to pick up the eggs.
