Duck hatch percentage rates

This is what I do and it works for me fantastic.
I lay eggs in incubator on their side. I don't turn the first 24 hours. I turn them twice daily after that. My humidity is between 40 and 50%. I watch air cells and Candle the last week before lockdown and if cells are too big I lower humidity. Temp is consistent at 99.5 and 100 all during the process. I don't mist or cool eggs. My incubator is a Genesis hovabator 1588..Forced air.
I have a great success rate..

What kind of incubator do you have? Is it still air or forced air?

I'm comfortable with chicken egg hatching and decided to expand to ducks. After doing lots of research I bought 12 duck eggs, put them in a PETSFOND Intelligent Egg Incubator that you can set the temp and humidity, it is a Game Changer. At day 15 I removed all eggs, put in a basket for 25 minutes, lightly sprayed with distilled water, replaced in incubator. I maintained 99 F temp, 65-70% humidity; at day 25, last cool down spray Lock Down- removed turner, raised humidity to 75-80% lowered temp to 98 F of 12 eggs, 2 never developed, 1 didn't hatch, 9 successful hatches. To say I was thrilled is an understatement, However... 5 of my pips made little progress in 24 hours so I assisted, VERY gradually, removing shell little by little (every 2 hours) around the pip line. 2nd hatch was similar and I'm on my 3rd batch now. I know hatch rate on ducks is pretty low, perhaps because the shells are so thick? I tried not to intervine but could not let them go without a fight. They are definately more work, but so worth it :)
