Hi! New to posting here but have definitely used some posts over the last few years when coming to advise with our ducks.
We have a white created female that seemed to loose her ability to walk very suddenly. She was walking around during the day with her other duck friends this last Friday but in the evening we found her unable to stand or walk. After isolating her we noticed she was pooping a very bright green color. After doing a little research we decided to get some vitamins and electrolytes into her and just keep her cozy, warm and isolated. On Saturday she was standing but her balance seemed iffy for walking she still had a few bright green poops but some had at least lost that color. Yesterday she was up and walking and poops seemed more normal. I figured we got through the worse of whatever was going on but going to keep her a little longer isolated until we were sure she was good to join the others again. This morning however she regressed, no walking or standing. Poop back to being that very green color and was all over her back side from not being able to position herself. She got a bath and she is chirping and calm, and if we fill the tub and place her in it she cleans her feathers and bobs and can float and paddle. She’s drinking and eating and accepting snacks. We checked her initially and her legs and feet are fine and she doesn’t seem to be in pain. We have 6 other ducks that are ok and not showing any signs the last few days. My initial thought is she got into something and is getting rid of toxins now. I think the recovery and then regression threw me a bit and I’m just a little unsure what to try next or if I should do anything different being it was working at first. We do have a vet that we’ve taken ducks to before but they are booked until Wednesday so just wanted to see if this sounded similar to anything or any home remedies to keep trying.

A side note I’m unsure is relevant, but all the ducks a little over a week ago abandoned their pond and became fearful of the water. We began to suspect maybe a snake or turtle was causing the panic. We had all the ducks isolated away from the pond and gave them tubs of water while we pumped down their pond and investigated the issue. Nothing was found but they seem still to be terrified of the pond. Our crested got sick about a week and a half after this development. It may not be related at all but wanted to include just in case.

Thanks so much :)

How old is she?
What feed are you feeding her?
What brand/type of vitamins did you give her?

A toxin is always possible, but with her being created that would make me lean towards a possible neurological issue.

Green poop is usually from not getting enough to eat. What's their diet? Do they get enough niacin ?
She eats Purina dumor for ducks with niacin at 35mg/lbs. when they were ducklings I added niacin with brewers yeast while they grew but she and the the others have eaten this since. She’s a year and a half. We usually don’t give extra in her food but went out after reading a few post and got a generic vitamin and electrolyte with lactobacillus supplement for ducks at our local tractor supply.

I was also worried neurological briefly being she has the crest. She does better with standing and walking a few feet after she’s had some time swimming in the tub.

Does the supplement list Niacin and it's amount? I would dose her with Durvet's B complex. 35mg per pound is a little low niacin wise for my liking even for adult ducks.
