Duck having seizure PLEASE READ

Until you find a niacin supplement, here are some foods that have niacin in them.

  • Eggs, you can gently scramble them (no margarine or anything like that) and feed it to the duck in small amounts
  • Tomatoes, just the fruit with green parts (stem and leaf) removed
  • Carrots chopped very tiny
  • Summer squash/zucchini

Ok I'll try the eggs and tomato right now. Thanks so much!

Scrambled an egg and mashed it with the water that has the electrolites and probiotic in it. He ate a couple bites them went to his regular food and ate quite a bit.

Good. Hopefully that makes him feel better.

I hope so too. She is still having seizures but I don't expect an immediate change. I ordered Brewers Yeast and as soon as that comes in I will start using it for her. Until then I will do some more research and try and find other foods high in Niacin. Not sure how much longer I can stand to see her suffer.... It is heartbreaking. My 16 year old has witnessed two of her seizures and she is highly upset by it.

Another thing to think about is her hydration status. How much water is she drinking? I ask because dehydration can also cause seizures.

She drinks quite a bit still. I am giving her the Save a Chick electrolites and probiotic packets mixed according to directions. I also provide regular clean drinking water. I give her a bath twice a day as well. I had her a little pool in the tub with her but when she has a seizure she runs into it too much and I dorm want her to hurt herself so I removed it. She has been eating her regular food and ate a little bit of mashed eggs. But she does seem to be drinking normal. Her poo is not that runny anymore and it's much more "normal".
