Duck having seizure PLEASE READ

Was just about to give yall an update

She had no known seizures yesterday at all from what we could tell. Overnight we found her poo splattered all over the tub. Not sure if it was a seizure or if she just was being messy.
Around 11 today my daughter found her on her back but nothing was messed up in the tub so we don't know if maybe her seizures are becoming less violent or more mild or whatever. Still drinking and eating normal. Still giving her the electrolites and probiotic water. Gave her applesauce, egg, kale, peas and corn mash last night to try and get more niacin in her. She ate a few bites. She is eating her food normal tho. Swimming and cleaning and preening normal. I'm hopeful for sure. Brewers yeast will be here today so I'll start them on that as soon as it comes in.

Sounds good! Thanks for the update. All they need is one tablespoon of brewers yeast to one cup of food. I'll be checking in and keeping my fingers crossed!

Poor duck had another seizure today. I got the Brewers yeast in and have given him and the babies some on their food. We shall see how well they do and if the sick one gets better. :( I would prefer putting in in their water because I know they drink it. I can't guarantee which food they will eat. Anyone know if you can and how much you'd put in?

Sorry to hear that!

@Kaessa I believe knows how much to put in their water. The reason I don't do it that way is because they splash around and "wear" more of their water than they do their food.

Trying not to get my hopes up but no seizures yesterday! And only 1 the day before. Of course she could be having them less violently that we can't notice or what not. I pray we are on the upside!

2 1/2 days without any apparent seizures! Any advice on when to reintroduce him to outside. I wouldn't keep him out all day because it gets pretty hot here and nasty rain all evening the past week. Most I've had him outside is 30 minutes.

Wish I had some advice for you. I've been lucky since none of my ducks have had issues. How many do you have outside? Are they all the same age?

Oh, let's tag some folks that might have some words of wisdom.

The cage I keep my baby pekins in is in my bedroom. It has a piece that goes in the center to seperate it into to halves. I put Howie(while the kids take baths), which is the seizure duck into one half and let the babies stay in the other half. There is a door so they can't actually touch each other except through the bars. He is honkin up a storm and the babies are peeping. They are talking. Not aggressive. the babies are almost 3 weeks old so they are closer to his size now, he is 6 weeks old. I am very pleased that they are being nice and communicating. :)
