Mazel is my 16 week old Ancona hen, who lives with 5 other hens and 2 drakes. She is 5 weeks older than the rest of them. Over the past two weeks she's been approaching others in a tall posture, head up but with her chin down, clucking a distinctive staccato cluck I haven't heard any of them make before. What's she saying?

I have seen them pinch at each other to say "get out of my way!" so I imagine this other thing means something else.

thanks!!

maybe she is trying to assert herself and let them know that she is the boss lol i assume ducks have a pecking order the same way chickens do

If she is 5 weeks older, she is most probally showing off what she has and the others dont, like someone said above, a pecking order
