My 3 ducks were attacked last night. One gone with nothing left but a puddle of blood. 1 survived with almost no injury. The other has many missing feathers and an injured bill. What can I do for the bill? It feels very soft/broken…has gashes/cut marks on the tip. I’ve rinsed with saline and sprayed with antibiotic injury spray. Also gave both ducks antibiotics this morning to be safe. Any other suggestions?

The ducks are closed up at night in what used to be my chicken coop for a year with no predator issues. I have no idea how something got in there. No sign of entry or blood/feather trail. They are now safe in a large tub inside my big chicken coop which is where they will stay until healed and then I think I will keep them with my chickens moving forward. It is a raised shed with no possible way for anything to get in once the door to the run is closed so I know they will be safe there. I feel horrible, I just have no idea how a predator got into their coop last night 😔 I am setting up a trail cam tonight to see if I can figure out what exactly got in there as I am sure it will now return.

Poor thing. It sounds like you are doing the right things for the bill. There really isn't much else to do. You might want to separate until healed though if it's still bleeding.
