Duck is top heavy in the water

So, my duck hurt her leg jumping the fence to get on the porch. I wanted to let her leg rest so I brought her in for a soak in the tub. I noticed as she floated, her front end sinks and her beak skims the water. Is this normal for Pekins?

Is she not using the other leg?...Do you not provide Kiddie pools for regular bathing?..She almost looks as though she doesn't have enough oil in her feathers..

She's using both legs. She just favors one. But in the water, she seems to be using them equally. Since her bonded sister died and I brought in the new duck, she hasn't been willing to get in the pool (so maybe a week?) So she may not have enough oil. This bath should help a bit with that.

@CayugaJana has Pekins maybe she has seen this in hers, she def looks a bit water logged probably from not bathing and preening.

Thanks. And she might be molting. It's hard to say. Not a lot of feathers in the yard but she's looking a little bare

I’ve had mine do this when they are puny. So my guess is they aren’t preening or aren’t making enough oil.

I was researching. It might be wet feather so I'm going to check her oil gland tonight when I go out to feed her and make sure it's not swollen or infected looking. I just checked on her. It's been about 90 minutes and she still looks damp. Of course, it's raining, but she's in her pen due to the leg (which is covered).

Put some “Fish, Flax, and Borage Oil” from Walmart in their food a couple of weeks. It will be good for them and she will make more oil.
