Duck lessons

One thing I never knew before I got ducks is how they have an extra set of clear eyelids that they use as goggles while swimming, I thought that was really cool the first time I noticed it in my ducks!

How just seeing them makes me smile no matter how bad I may be feeling. I just never realized how awesome they are until we got our first ones less than a year ago!

How much they are the labradors of the poultry world. I’ve had working and sporting dogs (labs). Labs love to run, be silly, EAT, and PLAY IN WATER. These are the traits of my ducks as well. I’m pretty sure I picked the right birds now

I learned that there's a major difference between collecting chicken eggs and duck eggs. Chickens will lay in the same place.
Ducks? Seek and find! I am convinced they plan on who will lay where overnight. Then laugh while I go to every corner and pile of leaves knowing they will hear me say "nope or yay!" They probably even place bets . . .

I swear a few of mine put out a decoy egg. Underneath a very visible egg was three more hidden in straw.
