Yesterday when I went to go let my 2 month old ducks out of their house, one of them was limping. Over the past 24 hours, it has gotten worse and he/she has to use its wings to stable itself when it stands up. The left foot is turn inward at like 45 degrees. It prefers to just lay around. I have inspected it and I don't feel any broken bones, no inflammation, nothing I see wrong with it. Any ideas?

Maybe sprained? Got caught in something and possibly yanked to get free?

How is your duck? Are they still limping?

Could you post pictures?

Also how old is your duck? Do you think it’s male or female?

What feed do you have them on?

One possibilities is temporary complete or partial paralysis caused by two large of an egg passing through the oviduct and pressing on the sciatic nerve.

Another is arthritis, ducks are prone to it and can develop it at any age.

For either you can try is to let them soak in a warm bath to ease inflammation.

There are disease associated reasons for this as well like nutritional deficiency, various viruses, bacteria, or hardware disease.

Sounds like it could be a niacin deficiency or an injury but I'd go with a niacin deficiency since the leg is turned. This needs to be treated ASAP TSC carries a brand of liquid B Comple Durvet liquid b complex get your duckling on this right away. the quicker you get him/her started the quicker it will help. 1ml over a tasty treat daily.

I'd start with eliminating Niacin deficiency since we see this often in young ducklings. What are you feeding and giving any niacin supplement?
