How'd you mange to not have coons? I thought they were all over the USA?

We do have coons here but my uncle has set up many traps and they have learned to stay away. Also the coop is close to the house and we have a light that we keep on on the back.

We do have coons but we catch a lot so they usually stay away. Are main predator is a hawk.

I know we have coons too, but we have two ponds, i dont know if there is anything in them, but they have never messed with my ducks when i had them, the pen was like 3-4 ft tall with no roof, and they have never messed with the geese or the quail, or the goslings up on the porch

It’s large breeds of ducks like rouens and Aylesburys need water to mate as mating is an awkward thing to do on land for them.

My Muscovies are large and mate on ground a lot and have pools around and so do my geese. Although they mate in the pools too.

Actually I think they just mate when the mood strikes no matter where they are.
