Duck mating

So I got an up close and personal look of what it looks like when the drake mounts the female. I noticed that the drake was way off the mark from the female's vent.
They've been doing this for quite a while now. They are 5months old. Is there something wrong with the drake's plumbing or are they just young and still in the process of figuring this out?

From what I read here, it takes some time for them to figure it out. But I also read that they will keep trying.

My drake and duck successfully were able to make babies at seven months. I'm sure yours will learn soon!

they will get the hang of it, they believe in practice makes perfect at that age...just give them sometime
