DUCK MISSING!

One of 2 year old khaki girls is missing for 3 hours. I let them all out of the house this morning at 7:00, and she is nowhere to be found. Her sister is VERY upset!! I've looked everywhere.

She sometimes goes and hides to lay an egg, but always comes back. Hopefully today is the same scenario.

I am just so stressed and upset. I knew this was the only place I could come and vent. I can't but help imaging the worst.

Have you tried scattering some treats? Maybe she’ll hear the happy duck sounds associated with treats and come home?

I know that my chickens always come running from wherever they are when they hear me scooping their cracked corn and opening the bin lid.

I usually bring peas out to them in the morning, that usually gets her out...not today.

When I let them out this morning is was rainy and darker...my bad thought is that a predator got her, but we really don't have a lot of that around here.

I am hoping so. Just wish I knew where she was. Our area is ver woodland. Her poor sister is so upset.

I hope she comes home soon! We have lost 6 ducks this year. Thought we had lost another but he ended up coming home after 24 hours. Beat up, but home and healing! Good luck!

My Khaki girls go a little bit broody especially in the spring. They make a secret nest and hide, sitting on eggs in it. Funny thing is, they get sick of it by the afternoon and come out to eat and hang with the rest of the gang until the next morning. I have a fenced yard so I can always find mine. Hopefully, yours is just under a shrub nearby, doing the same thing.
