DUCK MIXES?

So I know regular ducks take about 28 days to hatch and muscovies take 35 days...what if I have mixes of both? Some of my muscovy eggs are developing nicely, but I don't have a muscovy drake, so it's either my Pekin or Khaki Campbell who fathered them...unless a gander can fertilize muscovy eggs? I heard they are closer genetically to geese... my gander definitely thinks he should be the father of these girls' babies. lol

Anyway, I know anything that hatches from the eggs will be infertile, do I still assume a muscovy hatch date of 35 days?

Interesting question. I know my regular mixed ducks ( no scovies) take a littl over 28 days to hatch.. like 31. Sorry i cant help on the scovie part, but here is a bump

No it is usually not 35 days with mule ducks it is usually 30. And yes they will probably be infertile but that is not 100%, some 'scovy hybrids are fertile.

Thanks guys, and yes, I'll definitely post pics. I pu them in the bator on the first so hopefully this weekend I'll have some pips! OOOH, I gotta go do some candling!

Why infertile? Is it something like the horse+donkey=infertile mule thing?
