Duck mounting dog - Mating or aggressive behavior?

Recently I noticed one duck trying to hop on my dogs back. Usually when we are all hanging out in the yard. He looks agreessive when he does it.
Ducks are about 10 weeks old and I'm not sure if they are male or female yet.
Any idea if it's a dominance or mating behavior?
Are there any good books / articles on duck behavior?

Thanks!

In case I haven't done so yet,

Could be he is feeling his oats, could be a combination of aggression and play, actually.

I must ask . . . how does the dog handle it?

The dog is used to being picked on by the ducks so he just gets up and walks away.

I am curious as to how this turned out. My poor senior lab can’t take much more “love” from two affectionate ducks. I don’t know how to stop this. Honestly at first it was hilarious but he is getting agitated and they are getting more aggressive.

My Peking attempted this with my golden. I am still not sure what she was trying to do. He looked at me like what the heck is going on. She also tried pulling some of his fur on his back end out.

That is the best picture ,my little cocker spaniels humps my lab , she takes it for awhile then gets up and she drops off ! I hope your dogs don’t snap at the ducks ... maybe spray them with a water gun? That’s dog training but it might work
